The Ofsted report commented that the school has “outstanding aspects in pupils’ personal development and in the care and support for them”, while the church inspector praised the school for having a “strong Christian ethos that inspires very good relationships, positive values and attitudes to teaching and learning.”  It also commented that “Learners thrive in a happy, relaxed and secure environment”

Mrs Jones, the Headteacher, said, “I am particularly pleased that both the inspectors commented on the caring environment we have in our school.   Our pupils feel secure in school and take pride in caring for one another.  This, along with the commitment of all the staff, helps all our children to achieve to the best of their ability.  The two reports confirm what we already know, that Charsfield School is an excellent school that children enjoy attending”

Parents also responded positively to a questionnaire from Ofsted, with comments such as “I am very happy with all aspects of the school” being typical, and further acknowledgement that children achieve well at Charsfield.

Children and pupils at Charsfield Primary School have started 2009 celebrating recent Ofsted and Church reports.

Both reports found the school to be good, with outstanding elements, particularly in personal development, care and support.
