Charsfield Artist—Donald Turner

Over South View

A row of ex-local authority houses in Charsfield. Solidly built in 1947 with long gardens for families to be able to grow their own vegetables. In most small Suffolk villages you can find at least one row of these kinds of houses.

Old Joe’s Place

Old Joe lived in this bungalow from when it was first built in 1947. He died in 2006 and took with him the skill and knowledge of an excellent vegetable gardener. His garden was always neatly kept right up until his death. He was a little confused about how old he was but we think he died at the age of 79.

Donald Turner is an artist living and working in Charsfield. He is successfully exhibiting locally as well as undertaking numerous commissions from around the UK and Europe.  This idyllic location is perfect for inspiring artworks based on the local environment as well as offering the space needed to produce work that has been conceived during the artist's many travels and personal background.

Charsfield Paintings

Orchard, Charsfield

The orchard close to my house is very small but fascinating! I love the different shapes of the trees; especially the contrast of the apple trees with the tall poplars.
